I started the book with some skepticism, (because really, how would a history buff know how to write a YA fiction?), and lost that skepticism from the first page. Apparently, history buffs are one of the best book writers, as proved by John Green! Let me tell you that this book, about a boy and a girl with cancer, made me laugh, cry, smile, and even scream. Just so you know, I'm not a big bawler ( I didn't cry during Titanic, My sister's Keeper, Marley and Me... you get the idea?), but truthfully, I sobbed for days after I read the book.
So now that I've read the book, I want everyone else living under a rock to read the book too so that we can talk details (didn't include any in here so I don't spoil the book for you). I know some of you out there are lazy people, so here's the link to the trailer of the book. I can guarantee you that after you see the trailer, you will be getting off your lazy butt and then you will blindly drive (I am not responsible for any damage done to you, your car, or other people.....) through the streets to the nearest Barnes and Noble. You will then stay up all night reading this soon to be classic. Send me an email telling me how many tissues you used to wipe away your tears by the end of the book.
Perfect use of the crying picture.
ReplyDeleteI had the same though about John Green. It's quite interesting how he can go from a quirky historian to a beautiful and thoughtful writer.
ReplyDeleteIt makes sense.
DeleteI haven't read the book and was uninterested in it at first because I thought it was just another fad like Twilight or the Hunger Games but I've read some great reviews and have seen trailers everywhere so I'm going to try and finish the book before the movie comes out!
ReplyDeleteI just read it! It was so amazing!! I didn't really cry, but I don't very often with books. It was a fantastic story though and I can't wait to see the movie. Are you going to the premiere?? It's June 6th!
ReplyDeleteOf course of I'm going... if i can get my hands on some tickets!
DeleteHOW DID YOU NOT CRY YOUR EYES OUT?! I think after I hit about halfway thorugh the book I foind myslef crying after almost every chapter... and the way he ended the book, those 3 little words just got me.
DeleteSame, I haven't read the book either but I hoping to read it soon. Hopefully its as good as everyone says it is. Am looking forward to it, and will email you to discuss it when am done!
ReplyDeleteLike other people, have not read the book, and I don't really have the desire to. But I do agree that John Green I incredibly talented.
ReplyDeleteI cry over books and movies all of the time, so unless I'm prepared for a tear jerker I'm going to stay clear from this one!
ReplyDeleteI love the Fault in Our Stars, too! I can't wait for the movie... I'm going to cry my eyes out. I think this is a great introduction for people who haven't heard of it!
ReplyDeleteEvery time I read this book, I bawl like a baby. I feel you.
ReplyDeleteEvery time I reread the book, I fall in love with the book even more! Can't wait for the movie!
ReplyDeleteOMG OMG OMG I AM OBSESSED WITH THIS BOOK! I had heard a few people talk about the book but I always just pushed it to the back of my mind. However, one day my cousin was talking to me about how much she loved it and then she mentioned that JOHN GREEN WAS THE AUTHOR I MEAN COME ON OF COURSE I HAVE TO READ IT! So needless to say I got through the book in record time, along with the disposal of 2 tissue boxes and nights of curling up in bed and crying my eyes out… How can such a wonderful book hurt so bad?!
